Fernando Diaz
Information retrieval researcher whose work spans the selection problem at the heart of Query Routing across two eras: as a researcher at Yahoo! Labs Montréal he co-authored the SIGIR 2009 paper that framed Vertical Selection for web aggregated search, and at Carnegie Mellon University he co-authored LTRR (SIGIR 2026), which ranks retrievers for RAG by their expected contribution to answer quality — explicitly in the lineage of distributed IR and Federated Search.
