Jaime Arguello
Information retrieval researcher known for work on aggregated search. As lead author of the SIGIR 2009 paper Sources of Evidence for Vertical Selection, written at Carnegie Mellon University’s Language Technologies Institute with Yahoo! Labs collaborators, he defined Vertical Selection around three evidence sources — the query string, per-vertical query logs, and vertical-representative corpora — and showed query logs to be the strongest single signal.
